I met up with Alison & Brad on a sunny Sunday morning in June. I arrived about a half hour early and began scouting the place. Alison and I had looked at the forecast for the weekend of June 9th and we were happy it was going to warm and sunny (although, photos in the rain are also very beautiful. I don’t discriminate with weather. :)) I looked it on up Google Maps because I didn’t know Sunnyside Beach existed. As I walked up and down the boardwalk I was thankful that it wasn’t too crowded or busy.

I thought back to just over a year before this day Alison and I were putting the last minute touches to her wedding schedule and what a beautiful and intimate wedding they had at Böehmer Restaurant and now we were meeting up to do a maternity photoshoot.

As I saw Alison & Brad walk toward me hand-in-hand with a bag of blankets, I was quietly thankful for the chance to take these photos for them. I was nervous as I am at the beginning of every photoshoot. Little butterflies do their little dance in my stomach, but as the session progressed, I could not wait to get home and edit. The butterflies turned into a tingling anticipation.

They were playful, sweet and relaxed. Then we saw a playground.

They’re gonna be fun parents.
