Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a wedding planner and a wedding coordinator?

The terms wedding planner and wedding coordinator are used fairly interchangeably in this business but for me specifically, I offer coordinating services. That means you do a majority of the planning and research — the venue, photographer, make-up artists, caterers, etc  and I jump in around the 6-8 week mark to help you start pulling it all together.

I know my couples! They are phenomenal planners, they have vision and they want an intimate, meaningful wedding with well-thought out details that make the day special not only for themselves, but for their guests.

I pay attention to those details and make sure that the schedule for the wedding day runs smoothly — potential hitches and all.

All you have to do it focus on soaking in all the wonderful moments you create with your loved ones.

Why would I need a day-of coordinator? My friends said they'll help and my sister/cousin/mom knows what I need!

Hiring a wedding planner or coordinator is completely up to you and what your budget looks like. Having your bridal party, family and friends help out that day shows how much they want your big day to go well and they will inevitably have their list of things to-do. Heck, that’s how I got into the business!

Think of me as your right hand and second brain – the personal secretary you’ve always wanted. In the weeks leading up to your wedding I’m with you every step of the way to fine-tune details, to think of the things you may not have thought of yet and then some.

And on the big day, the only person you’ll hear from is me — not the caterer or flower shop or the DJ. Once the ceremony starts your family should be just that — family — and their only duty left is to drink, dance and be in the moment.

I know what’s like to plan something with family. Sometimes, you forget what it is that you want and there are a million and one opinions and ways to do something. I’ll help you to stay on track and follow the decisions that feel right for you.

How many hours are included in your service?

Not including the initial consultation, you get full access, unlimited meetings and consultations during the 6 weeks leading up to the wedding day.

On the wedding day, my service begins the moment you wake up, ensuring we’re on time during make-up and hair. Typically my day ends once the party is well underway and the late night snacks have been served. I’ll take down the essentials and pack away what I can into the bridal room, locking away the important things and leaving you with the key before I leave.

Of course, I won’t leave without saying good bye. 🙂

Are you available for site visit to our wedding venue?

Absolutely!

If it is a venue that is new to me I always prefer to see the space beforehand as well as meet the venue’s event coordinator. Being in the physical space will help me to understand how decorations will go, how far your entrance may be,  how parking works, etc. It gives me a much better sense of the day.

Is travel included in your services? What if we're having our wedding in another city/province?

I’m based in Calgary and I do travel for weddings — especially to Toronto — every year.

Dependent on where your wedding venue is, there will be an accommodation and potential car rental cost.

However, I do not charge for flights within Canada.
